he Bears advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history with a victory over Old Dominion, a win that was preceded by a pregame chat from Saints special teams coaches Joe Vitt and Dennis Allen. They brought with them the black bat the Saints used as inspiration before their victory in Super Bowl XLIV, the one with the inscription “Bring the Wood.”
"They came and gave a great speech," said Baylor guard LaceDarious Dunn. "They told us that as a team, we’ve got be in it together. We can’t depend on the coaches because they’re not playing, it’s all on us. I really took it in."
